The winter season has elements that effect our bodies, minds and spirits. While we are all eagerly enjoying the added daylight, we still have a couple of months to "winter."
Winter is a time to slow down, to go inside and nurture yourself and those you care for -- people, plants, pets and our world. You may need to make an appointment with yourself -- as days slip by easily with all the self-imposed and external to dos of our lives. Some tips for self-care:
Allow yourself quiet, inward time -- maybe even disconnect -- no electronics, music or dialogue. Even if its a few minutes...
Treat yourself to a good book or audio/podcast -- something that you've always wanted time to delve into or revisit.
Enjoy that nap! Curl up, forget about the never ending to do list and rest. And if naps aren't your thing -- then allow yourself to go to bed earlier or sleep a little later.
Make healthy, soul nourishing foods and share them with people. Incorporate root vegetables, ginger and other warming foods.
Build in gentle, mindful exercise that feeds your body, mind and soul. Maybe its different than your routine -- less about fitness and NY resolutions, and more about tuning in to what you are craving.
Stay connected, send me a note (I love hearing from you!)
With love,
